I realised my blog stats is dropping tremendously. Must be due to the lack of update, people didn’t even bother to visit here anymore. Haha. Seriously, I got nothing much to write about. Everyday was sama sama to me. Work > Sin- HK. Layover @ HK. HK-BKK-SIN and HOME. When home, it is all about catching my drama serial, accompany the loved ones and thats it. It will be another off day gone and back to my work routine again.
My flight to HK on Tues did not started off well. Plane was delayed for an hour. Passengers were frenzied by the delay. I have to serve glasses of water again and again. My ah jie (who are our flight pursur who are also call the section leader) is a Singaporean. She has this ‘dont come around and mess with me’ face and she looked really fierce. Had a small briefing in the galley before that. Her expectations are rather high. She asked if everyone of us were experienced crew. I put up my hand and said I am 1 and a half month old. She asked me am I clear about my galley work. I told her yes and she said then there should be no excuse.
In my mind I am already scolding her @#%$!$. I am not finding excuse but I am just telling her because the fact is that I am not an experience crew. Moving on, after one hour of delay, the flight finally depart at 7.30pm. I am kind of satisfied at the end of the day because i feel i did a not bad job on that day compared to some other days whereby i felt i screwed up something. And surprisingly, my ah jie is not that bad to get along with.
Reached HK @ around 11.15p.m. I saw a group of SQ crews while waiting for the train to the arrival hall. Immediately, i thought about the sms that was sent by ben to me the evening before I depart. He told me he is coming to hk on the 19&20. I replied him telling him that I have a flight later and asked him what time is his flight. But without waiting for his reply, I need to board the plane.
I took a look and spotted him. He is not that hard to spot anyway. HAHA. Never seen him in uniform before and I have to say, not bad-looking ah! So coincidence that we can see each other in the airport! Exchanged a few words and intend to meet him the next day at mongkok. Too bad, I am meeting my classmate for lunch and couldn’t catch up with him.
Flight today back was good. My ah jie today is very very nice! Her name is Cherry and she is very warmth and helpful.
What I always hope for in a flight is nice team members, flight pursur, ISM and passengers. I am lucky that I havent met any zappy crew members before. Those hearsays about the senior loves to zap the junior, I have not experience it. Is it because that is CX culture or because I havent met any? I hope it is not the latter. Generally, I am quite a patient person when it comes towards treating my passengers. But of cause, there are still people that might cross my limit but I have to bear in mind that this is reality from the service industry. “Customers are always right.”
I would have rate this people as my top irritating passengers list and they all come from the same country.
1) Passengers calling you ‘oei’ or ‘eh’ this kinda names.
I dont expect them to see my name tag and call me by my real name. But at least ‘miss’ or ‘xiao jie’ which most of them did. Some very funny passengers even call me ‘ah yi’ lor!!! Damn it do i look that old? HAHA.
2) Passengers touch u by your hand to catch your attention.
This is really rude! Do you go around touching people when you want to ask for them? You have a mouth and you are not dumb, you should open your mouth and talk !
3) Passengers who are very ‘Yao Gui’
Everything also want to take home. Cups, plates, blankets. (Basically everything provided in the plane, worst still, sometimes i found the sanitary pads compartment in the toilet was being ransacked. ) Are you so poor that you come from some village that didnt have a cup for you to drink water. Still have the cheek to ask me if you can bring it home leh !
4) Passengers who don’t abide to the regulation
We made announcement. We tell them umpteen times that they have to fasten their seat belts before landing and they can only stand up after the seat belt sign is off. But there are sure some fellow who seems like they have 1 million dollars waiting for them at the gate. All rushing to take their bags at the overhead compartment even when the plane is still taxying !!!!
5) Passengers who ask for more food when they haven’t even finish theirs.
So you serve this passenger. You walk 1 row ahead to serve another one. The passenger that u served just now ask u if u can give him/her 2 more breads. God! You havent even touch your bread and u ask for 2 more?! Can’t you see that there are still so many people ahead of you who hasn’t eat!!?? Alamak, this is not a buffet dinner!
6) Passengers who saw wat others have and they want it too though they might not need it
If I offer 1 blanket to 1 passenger, everybody will raise their hand and shout ‘oei, 这里这里,我也要! And really you can see at least 10 hands raised up. At the end of the flight, you can see some unopened blankets on the floor. -_-”
That is all i can think of now. Will update once I have new ‘experience’ with them again. But behind this ugly side of them, they are actually quite easy to handle. Why?! Because they are not demanding. You can say no to them. They take whatever alternative u give to them. You can talk to them in a not so formal tone and language. I am slowly adapting to their behaviour. Sometimes when you meet those fussy demanding passengers who can challenge your authority is even worse.
ANYWAY, enough of the ramblings. Come back to the reality world. We are in the service line. Nothing much we can do and just to smile and smile and smile. Smiling is our best weapon. These are just minor stuffs that were brought to the job. Overall, I am still happy with my job, for the time being.
Ok. Time to hit the bed. I am very tired ! Had a bad dream last night thus didnt sleep well. I think i dreamt of seeing many cockroaches in my hotel room and I was running late to catch a flight. Haha. What a dream. Hope I wont have similar dream later.
