turn the clock back alittle

I realised that I didnt blog about some stuffs before and after I reach HK. I was quite busy and my brain stops working systematically. Sigh.

Talking about before departing to HK, I went to have a buffet dinner with Honey at a Japanese restaurant at Vivo City. A farewell dinner for me. =)

Nice dinner with good servings of salmon sashimi, beef, tempura etc.

The day of Departure

My darlings came to send me off which included Vivian, Kim and my beloved daddy. hee.

I miss them so much!

I miss him too.. *muackies*

Arrival @ HK

Checked into the hotel. Erm, I think I am really a lazy bum lor. Because it is just the 3rd day now and my room is so messy. Before and After pictures!

Before – My Bed

After (Clothes lying everywhere)

Before – My study table

After (Full of books and newspapers!)

Before – My Toilet

After (Hmm, actually still quite neat la. haha)

Ok! Here is really messy!

Wah lau. I couldn’t believe my power of messing up a room. I shall find a day and keep my stuff nicely lor. Can’t expect the housekeeper to tidy up my stuffs for me right. They can only help me to tidy my bed, change towels and empty the baskets lor.

Regarding to the hotel that I am staying, it is kinda out of the way because it is not anywhere near town, but very near to the airport. We have to live in Cathay City because this is the place where all the trainings will be held. They have all the neccessary facilities here and my colleauges commented that it looks like Sim City. Haha. I love to go to the Dakota Club here as there is a diverse range of sports facilities including gym, outdoor tennis court and swimming pool. There is also a convenience store in the city.

Beautiful views from the sky lounge on the top floor of Cathay City

Generally, I am quite satisfied with the accomodation here other than the inaccessible part to town. But anyway, I am here to work, not to play. I kept telling myself that I still have plenty of chances to come back to HK. In the mean time, just focus on the upcoming stressful training that will be starting on Mon. I am kinda worried because there are so many ex-crews in my batch. They pick things up faster. I am totally new in this line. Know nuts about anything about airline. I can foresee that I am going to face alot of problems. But I know despite of the upcoming stress that I will be facing, I found ‘antidote’ for my stressfulness too. keke.

Farewell card from Annabel :

“Dear Phyllis Jie Jie, May you have a safe flight to HK and a successful training stint. Jia you for your 6 weeks and be a great flight stewardess!”

Email from Honey (i am sorry that it is abit mushy, hehe):

“lao po, dun worry abt me. I am doing fine. Juz miss u tts why. I am sure u can make it there. 6 weeks will fly past then u can be a full-fledged stewardess le. Take gd care of yrself and remeber to take the vit c tablets.

cal me again when u free k.

mao mao n me miss u like hell”
Though these are all simple words, it is really a great energy booster for me. No matter what shit I encounter here, I am going to swallow it! LOL.
I miss you… and you!
The Wonderful loves of my life!!

fun day!

Its friday! We had our grooming session today at Causeway Bay. Today is the first time i go to town! Pretty excited about it. Met the HK classmates at Times Square located at Causeway Bay for Yam Char!

Cool man. This place is call 鸿星 . We had so much Tim Sum. 20 of us and the bill is only SGD $316. Which means each is only SGD$15.

We took alot of photos. But the group photos are with some of the girls. Still waiting for them to send me. This are some food here that were taken from my camera.

These dishes are infront of me. The rest is too far away thus i couldn’t reach them to take a photo! The yellow bun is very nice. The eye yolk will flow out when u bite the bun! The pan-cake looking thing on the left is beef stomach. I couldn’t rem the name. It sounded awful isn’t it? But it taste fantastic! Like pig stomach! The texture is better.

Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun

This rabbits are so cute. It is sweet and taste like mashmellows? But I don’t really like it as there are coconut coating. I hate coconuts!

After the Dim Sum lunch, we went for our make-up class. We had skin care talk first then to the make-up part. Before we end the class, all of us got to put on the makeup which matches with our uniforms. Green/ Blue eyeshadows are allowed only. Well, this is really challenging as I have never put on such ‘harsh’ colours on my face before. The first time I do it, the teacher told me that I need more colours on my eyes. Therefore, I slapped so much eyeshadow on my eyes! Took many photos with my classmates with the ‘art’ on our faces. keke.

With my Singapore based classmates!

This is Jun. Our most experienced classmate. She was with SQ for 7 years. Emirates for 2 years! A mother of one. Still looking good though.

Juvelyn. A very outgoing girl. The most click one because she is also as 38 as me! haha. Ex-crew too!

Vivian! Knew her before we came HK thru a forum. A very independent cool lady.

Su Jun. A very mature lady. A ex-crew also!

Kav. Going to be my swimming khaki. She loves to hit the pool!

My Hongkong based friends!

Kelly. When she wear her glasses she looks really cute.

Another Sweetie pie. Guess whats her name? Phyllis. LOL. We share the same name! Didnt know that Phyllis this name is quite common in HK. -_-” I always get blur when the teacher call phyllis. Because I dont know who she is calling! LOL

Traci. The tallest girl in class. She just look like a model!

Cass. A very quiet and demure lady.

Sylvia. She has a bubbly character and is always smiling. Whenever she see you, she will smile. Whenever I see her, I feel so happy because she always look happy. haha.

Ok, the rest is still busy with their make-up therefore unable to take photos. Oh, I have 20 classmates altogether. 7 from SG and 13 from HK. We have 4 guys too but they are not in because they need not attend this make-up class. After my lesson, I rush to Mong Kok and meet ben. Yea, he has a layover in HK and I went to find him for shopping!

I met him together with one of his crew, Jamie. 3 of us shop around Mongkok. From 女人街 to 花园. Went to this dessert shop and they intro me very nice Mango Desserts call  多茫小丸子and Mango dumplings? Forgot what is the name. Haha.

. The glutinous rice ball is fantastic.

The mango dumpling?

Me & Yandao Ben

After our shopping, we went to have dinner at a 茶餐厅.

Our 鸳鸯&奶茶

My Chicken chop rice with curry gravy. The presentation of the food doesn’t look very appetising. But it taste quite good.

Jamie’s pork chop rice with curry gravy

Ben’s pork and eel rice

靓仔!!

As if we are not full enough, we ordered a big toast! In the end, we can’t finish the whole thing. =(

Me & Jamie with our big toast!

Went back to the hotel at around 11pm. Bought a few things. I love this dress so much! And it is only SGD$13 only! Bought from a shop call and their clothes are so nice and cheap. Wanted to buy another top but too bad the last piece looks out of shape.

Ben was saying that this dress is so me. Hehe. Quite true indeed. I love the fluffyness at the bottom of the dress.

polka dots bra set. Only SGD$7 !

My eyeshadow and lipsticks from Beauty Tech. 2 items are around SGD$32

Bought some earrings and honey’s stuff too. Already ask ben to bring back for him since I can’t go back any sooner. =(

Me after a tiring day. Geez.

hongkong day 2

yea.. i am in hongkong now. =)

This is my 2nd day here.. everything is going smoothly at this present moment. Yesterday after touch down, we checked in to our crew hotel located at Cathay City.

Today is a very easy day. We went for pre-training briefing. Just an introduction on what the aircraft is about. Afterwhich, we proceed for photo-taking for making our HK ID Crew Pass. I am glad that there are alot of ex-crews in my batch. They helped me to do my hair! I just don’t know how to tie my hair in the FA style. But hopefully i can learn it fast during the glooming workshop which will be conducted on this friday. We also did uniform fitting so that it can be ready for collection on Mon when the real training starts. It was a hard time finding the right size and look nice because it is kinda too big for me. Either the blouse or coat. The trainer is very helpful and assist me to get the right size. But still, it will be send for alteration because the blouse is too long.

Went to Tung Chang just now to shop for our necessities. That is the nearest shopping mall. Gotten my calling card too. U may ask me for my HK number now. Hehe. It is quite cheap to call home. Just chatted with daddy for 10mins and my honey for 30mins and it just cost around HK 20.

And ya! I was really happy that I stay alone! We have only 7 gers and 1 guy for this batch. Therefore they arranged me to stay alone! It is much better because at least i can have some privacy. No need to share the TV and toilet with somebody else. Just had my bubble bath.. refreshing!

Tml will be having Service Language Workshop. Going to watch Forensic Hero II. My favourite drama. Shall upload photos in the next post. Too lazy now. Hee.

好累!!

I am so tired now.. I wanted to upload all the photos that I had taken with the gers but I am just so energy-less now. hehe.

I truely enjoyed myself last night. Life can never be so good without all of you.

Wanna thank the gers for coming down. Full attendance!! Though Karin is sick and Vivian just came back from Malaysia, they still make the effort to come down! Yay!

Thanks Derek for spending so much $ opening the bottles. Thanks for the Gordon Bleu!

Thanks Honey, Ben and WW for coming down to look for me! (I know might not be really looking for me la, haha)

And thanks for all the well wishes from my friends and promoters.. It is really touch when so many of them say they will miss me. But dont worry! I will be back soon! =D

Left with 2 more days to do so many things. Going to pack my stuff tommorrow. Unsure of how to pack my things that can last for 2 months. *Nightmare* But still not so bad la, anything that I lack of can buy there.

Ciaoz. ZzZzZ

my last day

Today is the last day of my employment with Motorola, or rather, Tiasa.

I have mixed feelings. There was a part of happiness because I can finally leave Tiasa, and a part of sadness that I am leaving this industry.

It was not easy for these 2 years that I had contributed to Motorola. I experienced joy, satisfaction, anger and unfairness. This job creates a great impact in my working career as I do learn alot of things and skills.

I want to thank the people for giving me many chances to do whatever I thought I couldnt do, or rather, do it well. I want to thank the colleauges for making my life so enjoyable and full of laughters.

The best part of this job is I really met alot of nice people along my way, be it promoters, colleagues, account manager or even the most hatred female manager that I had. I cant deny that the manager gave me alot of space to develop my strengths and to give me chance to do the things that I thought I couldnt make it. At the same time, she is much hated by us( haha) because of her way of working.

I will definetly miss working with these people. I never have very nice colleauges ever since I step in to working life. But I really make great friends here!

Mungy – Totally miss your talk cockness and will keep in touch for more mahjong and drinking sessions.

Jeff Uncle – The only friend that we support each other because we are doing the same work. Always much remembered as the hip uncle who doesn’t talk like a 35 years old uncle, instead look so much like our age. haha! More mahjong session too though he is always out there to cheat my $.

Michelle – Though she left long ago, but we are still in contact because we never forgot the days whereby we were slacking the whole day together in the office.. =p

Nicole -  Miss Capable. She is going to shine in Moto! Though I always get angry for her MIA-ing, but she is helpful when I really need her! More clubbing sessions please… =D!

OK, it is confirmed that I will leave on the 27th May in the morning..

Just msned with RX who are already in HK for training. She said that the first week will be more relaxing because the official training starts in the 2nd week. Lucky she is already there so I can get a rough idea of how life will be in HK.

Not easy, with many things to study and lots of tests. To a totally brand new environment, I can’t help to get alittle worried about my life. Nevertheless, I will still put in my 100% effort in this new job. No more Tai Tai life for me anymore.

I still have alot of things to do. I had done with my facial yesterday and spent a whopping $250. 1 night cream plus 1 serum is already $200! But I have to admit that their products are really good. I wonder if PAYOT this brand rings a bell to you. I personally used their products 1 year ago and the effect is marvellous. But lazy me didnt go back regularly to do my facial and use their products, thus the ugly me now with very hydrated skin.

For the next 3 days, I have to visit the dentist, buy a new handphone line, buy my necessities, call up jetstar to change my date to Taiwan and change my HK $.

Later going to Changi Airport to collect my pre-training package. I heard there are many things to study. Better start studying before I go.

Hope my employment with Cathay Pacific will be a good one. Bless me!

on a vesak day

Just came back from town watching ‘Chronicles of Narnia-Prince Caspian’. We had free premiere tickets from 93.3. Thanks to his sis for taking the tickets for us! Really love the show. Honey was afraid that I couldnt catch this movie before I fly because the official launch date for the movie is 29th. I wont be around at that period therefore he kept on pressing his sister to take the tickets for us.

After watching the movie, we went to Tanjong Pagar to meet ww because honey is his ‘best man’ for his wedding, therefore need to go for coat fitting. I am so sad that I cant attend his wedding!!!! I will be in HK by then. =( He will still have my best wishes…

Yesterday we went JB to do my hair and shop around. Bought some hair accessories and food. We drove to woodlands and park our car there. Didnt want to drive in because of the massive jam and we thought that if we go in by bus is much more faster. We went in at around 1plus and came out at 8pm. When we approached our car, we realised that honey forgot to off his hazard light! Wah biang, it is just not our day because apparently the battery went dead. Try to jump start the car and borrowed cable from other people to charge the battery and he even resort in pushing the car and I try to start it but still, it doesn’t work. No choice, we got to call the tow truck company and tow the car away. Luckily he can claim the bill else it will burn his pocket a big hole! Really inconvenient today that we travel around without our own transport. Sigh. Hopefully he can get it back tommorrow.

By the way, went for girls outing last Saturday. After that to fly with darling kim. Took some pictures there. I really love my girls for coming to this outing since I will be flying off soon. Looking forward to Fri when Ms Karin can join us for the clubbing outing. I will consolidate all the pictures and post them in an entry together.

hectic day

I walked alot today! Went out at 11plus to Aljunied and wanted to pass a new set of E8 to M1 for testing. There is a m1 building at Aljunied which nobody knows where the hell is the place because it is so ulu. Walked under the sun for almost half an hour frantically. I gave up, took a cab, passed the phone to nanz and continue to CGH to collect my medical report.

Finally my medical report is pass! It was demoralising at first because I took freaking long to pass this test and the process is just so exhausting. But everything is paid for when I receive the report today. I walk to and fro from CGH because the airline medical centre’s line got cock up. So I didnt know whether to take the report or not or just take the doctor reference letter. Finally got hold of the in charge and she said I need the report. Was already at Simei Mrt and I have to walk all the way back to CGH again to request for the report. Frustrating but its ok since i got a pretty mood today.

Pretty mood resulting in splurging! I bought a damn bimbotic phone! Went to outram park to walk around and pass by this handphone shop that sells hello kitty phones. This phone caught my eyes and i cant help myself to buy it. Why will i say this is a bimbotic phone because the functions are very normal, just that the phone is so cutie and nice.

How to resist when it is so girlie cute?

The box is also a hello kitty face!

Comes with a kitty pouch

I am not a huge fan of hello kitty but this is really cute and nice. Very light also. One bad thing is that the camera is only 1.3mp. But I was thinking i will get this first since LG Viewty pink is not out in SG yet. Actually I found one shop selling it at $628 but when I called, its sold out!!! And they wont take in stock for the time being.

This phone quite cheap also la, after bargaining is $250. UP is $260. I saw them selling this China phone that can watch TV too. The design quite nice, looks like one model in white from Dopod. But I tried the TV, not so clear leh. Must walk till a place with no shelter then can see clearer. If the TV is good, i might just buy that, but too bad. =( I hope I can find the pink LG phone so that this can be use as a spare phone since I got 2 lines.

Next week will be a busy week. Many things to do before departure. Scheduled to leave for Hongkong on the 26th or 27th. Shall update again.
