First of all, I need to confess that I am doing this advertorial for Jason.
However, whatever that was mentioned here has no conflict of interest. Which in term means I am fair enough to give my most sincere comments on my opinion of car rental.
7 Years ago, I remembered when I just gotten my licence, I was really eager to drive a car.
How much eager I am I couldn’t describe but I was under quite a stressful environment. My family owns a car but I don’t have the courage to drive it at that time because Dad has always been stringent and required me to undergo extra lessons from him before I can officially drive his car out.
To me, Dad giving me training is worst than taking my test in BBDC because he can be stricter than my instructors. I have no self-confidence. Well, that was my character when I was young, the very quiet and always afraid of everything little girl and I always drop tears whenever I failed my test!
Okie, back to the part about learning from Dad. I passed my TP upon the 4th attempt. (See how lousy and untechnical I was) In turn, I lost all the self confidence that I am supposed to have on the road, especially bearing the heavy responsibility of driving Daddy’s car because of the relentless nagging that he will give.
At that point of time, I don’t know there is such thing as Car Rental until I flipped through Straits Times one fine day and saw it under the ‘ Classified Section’
Ideas came across my mind that maybe I should get more ‘training’ on the road first before I go for Daddy’s lesson.
I called up, enquire and confirm with the company that I want to rent a car. Just within a day, I got the car.
First time on the road after getting a licence is thrilling and fulfilling. All I did was to ferry my loved ones around, bringing them for a spin and enjoy the feeling of not having to wait for public transport, squeeze with people on the bus/ mrt, pay sky high taxi fares everytime we move from one destination to another. Worth to mention, enjoying the private moment with people in the car, who supposedly are my best companions in my life is just like in heaven too. =)
I thought that was really cool and convenient to rent a car. I rented a few times afterwhich and my confidence was slowly built up when on the road. Eventually, daddy trusted me and gave me permission to use his car as and when I like!
